My Neighbor's Ministries

Jesus showed us what it would be like if God lived among us.  He would teach us, love us and even die for us!  He would cry when we cry, laugh when we laugh... and He would invite us, all of us, to join Him, to be with Him, to be His Disciples!  That's incredible, and that is our gift of grace!

My Neighbor's Ministries (MNM) is an amazing opportunity right here at Zarephath to be blessed by a ministry of the church as well as to join in what God is already doing around us!

My Neighbor's Pantry

About

Zarephath Christian Church collects shelf-stable food items on a regular basis. Food is distributed to those who come to us with a need. Our goal is to provide higher quality and healthier food items.

We regularly need the following items: Rice, dry beans, canned beans, soup, canned vegetable, mac & cheese, cereal, pasta, canned sauce, detergent, dental care items, soap, oatmeal, diapers, and any non-perishable items.

The areas we serve are Bound Brook, Bridgewater, Manville, South Bound Brook, and Bound Brook.  There are several ways to give to the Pantry: Donate food on a Sunday, Donate money to our account at the Central NJ Food Bank (note: For My Neighbor’s Pantry, Agency # A1831-01), and Send a gift to ZCC noting it is for the Pantry.

My Neighbor's Garden

About

My Neighbor's Garden provides fresh vegetables for My Neighbor's Pantry. The Garden is a place where we can fellowship as we minister to one another and find a place where lives can change from the outside in. Our season begins once the winter weather breaks, and whether you have gardening skills or not, there is something for everyone. We have a volunteer base that is garden savvy and someone will be there with you.

It is so much more than “farming/gardening”. You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. God has placed us all here to do His works and to enjoy the beautiful things around us which He has provided. Come join in!

Resource & Capacity Development

About

As Christians, we are called to provide encouragement, prayer and also tangible assistance to our brothers and sisters in need. This ministry helps people identify their immediate needs, connect with the services that will help their situation, and provide the support to empower them to takes steps towards developing their capacity through programs such as English classes, GED programs, and resume writing/ job interviewing skills.

You can help by making us aware of new online resources or help within Somerset County and surrounding areas. We are interested in new food pantries, soup kitchens, job fairs, training, free or low cost English courses, etc. We will also have training if you would like to get familiar with how you can help.

If you have a need, we recommend starting with an online database of services, such as NJ211. Resources such as these can help in critical moments when helping people in crisis to connect to services in this region and find food, housing, clothing, jobs, skills training and bill payment assistance.
